Posted on
The second of two incidents on Saturday Morning involving foreigners in Pattaya’s designated Tourist Safety Zone, occurred at a Guest House on Walking Street just before 6am. Police and rescue services were called to the location by staff who discovered the unconscious Russian occupier of a room which had been rented for just 2 hours, earlier in the night.
The name of the man was not forthcoming but he was able to confirm he was a Russian and staff at the guest house indicated that earlier in the night he was accompanied by two transsexuals and the room had been rented for just a short period of time.
The two transsexuals were seen to leave first and when staff went to check the room they found the front door was open and the Russian was lying on the bed and was drifting in and out of consciousness.
An ID card from the Democratic Republic of Laos was found in the room and is thought to belong to one of the suspects. Apart from this piece of evidence Police are unsure what, if anything, had been stolen. Bottles of beer and water were taken away for analysis to determine if he had been administered medication to assist sleeping through one of the drinks.
The Russian Embassy in Bangkok has been informed and the victim remains in Hospital for now where he is recovering from the effects of the medication which is presumed to have been placed in his drink.
