A 66-year-old German was drugged and robbed of cash worth 500,000 baht in his room at Sweet Dream Place near soi Buakhao. He told police he had invited a Thai lady to his room, and she served him coffee that knocked him out. He was later found unconscious by a friend. Both the lady and cash from his safe had vanished.

PATTAYA – October 28, 2012 [PDN]; at 3 a.m., a report of a foreigner being drugged and robbed was received by Pol. Lt. Kwanchai Numkanisorn, investigation officer on duty, Pattaya police station, Chonburi province. He rushed to inspect the scene with a detective police team.

The incident occurred at Sweet Dream Place, address 383/115 Soi beside Excite, Moo 9 Tambon Nong Preu, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

In his incoherent condition, the victim could not give any information so the officers sent him to be cured at Pattaya Memorial hospital.

Police inspected his room, which was in a state of disarray with his possessions scattered around. Police found a glass of orange juice left on the top of the bed, which they kept for evidence.

Later, a friend of Mr. Hartmut, identified as Mr. Michael Kaschpde, came to visit the victim at his room, and discovered Mr. Hartmut lying naked and unconscious on the bed. So Mr. Michael informed the apartment manager and notified the police.

After Mr. Hartmut was cured and regained consciousness, he came to see the police to give his testimony. Mr. Hartmut said he had left his room to exchange money at the Foreign Exchange booth in Soi Buakhao. On the way back to his room he met a Thai woman who was about 30-35 years old.

The woman began talking to him, so he persuaded her to come to his room. Then the woman made a cup of coffee for him to drink. But after he drank the coffee, he passed out and lay unconscious on his bed, until his visiting friend found him and assisted him.

After he later checked for his cash in the room safe, which was unlocked. Mr. Hartmut found that 12,000 in Euro dollars and 10,000 baht was missing. The total money stolen was equivalent to 500,000 THB.

The police inspected the incident scene in detail and made notes for evidence. They inspected the CCTV and saw footage of the woman Mr. Hartmut had brought to his room.
