Two Russian Ladies Robbed And Raped In Pattaya

After spending Christmas Eve on Walking Street, two Russian women were walking back to their Pratumnak Hill hotel in the early morning hours, but were forced at gunpoint into a pickup truck by three Thai men. The men robbed and raped the women in a forested area in Huay Yai and left them there.

PATTAYA – December 26, 2012 [PDN]; a Russian interpreter revealed to the reporter that two Russian women were raped by three men at 5 a.m. on December 25, 2012. The crime report was received by Pol. Lt. Col. Patsa Dechparkkul, investigation officer of Pattaya police station, who is assigned to the case.

The victims were identified as Ms. Maria, age 30; and Ms. Anastasis, age 31; both Russians. Through the interpreter, the ladies described what happened.

The two ladies and another Russian friend had been enjoying the evening on Walking Street road, and they later walked to the port bridge of Laem Balihai to see the scenery. After they were finished looking at the scenery, they began walking back to their hotels.

The three ladies walked along the route of the bridge of Laem Balihai, and one lady then went to where she was staying at the Hiso Hotel near the bridge.

The other two ladies were staying at the Pattaya Hill hotel at Phratamnak Soi 4. So they decided to walk through the public park on the hill. In the park, they saw a dark-colored pickup truck with a canopy over the truckbed. The truck had its motor idling, and the ladies did not know what model and brand the pickup truck was.

The ladies walked pass the pickup truck until they reached soi 2 Phratamnak. But before they reached their hotel, the pickup truck drove across their path in front of them. It was the same pickup truck they saw at the public park.

Two Thai men got out of the pickup truck, while another man sat in the truck. The men used a gun and knife to force the ladies to get in the pickup truck with them. When the victims tried to shout for assistance, the men slapped their mouths and told them to shut up.

The truck then drove through Pattaya and out to Sukhumvit Road toward Sattahip. Then the truck turned into a soi that the ladies were unfamiliar with, and they did not know its name.

The truck then did a U-turn to the forest side of the soi and stopped. The men then told the ladies to get out of the pickup truck, and forced them to hand over their property to the three men. The stolen items consisted of a Samsung mobile phone, an iPhone, earrings, and 3,700 THB cash.

The three men then took both ladies into the forest. There was a cottage where Ms. Maria was forced to go inside by gunpoint. She was then ordered to take off all her clothes, and was raped.

Meanwhile, Ms. Anastasis was taken into the forest and raped there. After they were finished, the three men drove away and left the victims in the forest.

The two Russian women walked out from the forest and tried to ask for assistance from people. Finally they found a house with residents inside, who notified the police at the Huay Yai police station.

The Huay Yai police came to assist the victims and took them to the Pattaya Police station. A detective police team was assigned to track down the suspects and prosecute them urgently, because the crime was committed against tourists and harms the image of Pattaya.
